I just had to have a digital camera. I bought a Nikon and used it for awhile. I stopped using it when it became such a chore to print and catalog the images. I went back to my old Canon Sure-Shot.
Now I simply shoot a roll , take it to the store, they print 2-4x6 glossies and I'm happy. It's simple and direct.
I had an HP printer for photos and it works fine but if you insert the disc directly into the printer you have to know which coded file # you want to print (or print them all). You can set up viewers and all that, but what a pain in the butt!
So it's back to the basics and that's that.

I've had a Nikon film camera for a couple years now. I can take pretty much any kind of photo with it, if I want digital, I just tell the girls over where I get it developed. They use like this kodak thing that makes a cd of the film, so I can have both from the same roll.
I have negatives that are over 100 years old that I can still print, how long are cds going to last? They say a long time but they also said in the 80s that video tape would last 100 years. I can tell you that I have tapes that were stored in the dark for 15 years and you can barely see what is on it. So my point is, shoot film, scan it or have it put on a disc and keep your negatives as they will last, we don't know about cds, memory sticks ect.
