Surfing Guide to Southern California

by Bill Cleary, and David H. Stern

Dedicated to James Fitzpatrick

This is THE GUIDE. When it was written in 1963, Dana Point was still a surf spot, not a harbor.

The Hollister Ranch was open to just 80 hardcore surfers who had the key to the gate and the run of the beach.

It has every surf spot from the Ranch to The Tijuana Sloughs. There are maps, pictures and accurate surf descriptions. Some of the roads have changed, and some of the beaches are gone entirely (Stanley's for instance). The stoke remains.

It's been re-printed, in its original form, by popular demand of sentimental old timers and stoked modern surfers.
